Update from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department 12-27
On Christmas Eve as the units were returning from the annual visit to Chesapeake Shores we were alerted to a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle overturned and one person entrapped.
First arriving Chief 9B (K. Adams) reported one vehicle on its side with one person trapped. E91 arrived and began stabilization until the arrival of Squad 3. Squad 3 arrived and began full stabilization and extrication of the patient. Squad 7 arrived and assisted with extrication. All units worked together and extricated the patient and turned her over to awaiting EMS crews.
The patient was then transported to St. Mary’s Airport to MSP Trooper 7 that was waiting for transport. The patient was transported to a local trauma center for evaluation.
UPDATE 12-24 3:50 p.m.
One person was flown to a trauma center by helicopter and several others were taken to an area hospital for injuries resulting from a crash just after 3:00 p.m., Dec. 24.
Expect residual delays in the area of First Colony and FDR Boulevard as crews clear the wreck.
CALIFORNIA, Md. – On Monday, December 24 at approximately 3:00 p.m., emergency crews responded to FDR Boulevard and First Colony Boulevard for the report of a serious motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival crews discovered a two-vehicle crash that caused one vehicle to overturn leaving people trapped inside.
At this time, crews are working to extricate one person from their vehicle and evaluating several others for injury.
Expect heavy delays in the area.
