SOMERSET, NJ.- Coming off a series win in Lancaster, Southern Maryland gets bit by three Somerset home runs and 14 hits as the Patriots defeated the Blue Crabs by the final of 10-2.

Somerset jumped out to an early lead with three runs scored in the bottom of the first.  With a runners on, David Vidal stepped to the plate and ripped a two run home run over the wall to make it 2-0.  A couple of batter later, Carlos Guzman stepped to the dish and singled in Bryan LaHair to make it 3-0 Somerset.

In the bottom of the fifth, Eric Farris and Bryan LaHair walked and singled respectively to put two runners on.  Kyle Roller came to the plate and lifted a three run homerun over the wall to make it 7-0 Patriots.  Carlos Guzman added to the homerun party with a solo shot over the wall in right in the bottom of the seventh.

The only two runs of the night for Southern Maryland came from the two run homer from Alfredo Marte.  Meanwhile, LHP Nik Turley picked up the win, going five innings, allowing just two runs, and striking four.

Southern Maryland has not lost seven straight against Somerset.  The Blue Crabs look to even the series tomorrow night in Somerset.  The first pitch is set 7:05 P.M.
