Contributions of money, goods or real property worth $500 or more are eligible for tax credits through the Communityโs Investment Tax Credit (CITC) Program awarded to Patuxent Habitat for Humanity. Over the past 12 years, the Community Investment Tax Credit program has leveraged nearly $20 million in charitable contributions to 300 projects across the State of Maryland. Patuxent Habitat for Humanity is privileged to be part of this competitive statewide opportunity.
Businesses or individuals interested in making a CITC donation will fill out a simple two-page form provided by Patuxent Habitat for Humanity and provide documentation of the value of the contribution. Once approved, a tax credit equal to 50% of the value of the money, goods, or real property contribution can be earned. These tax credits are in addition to the deductions on both Federal and State taxes as a result of the charitable contribution. Anyone wishing to donate real property must contact the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Developmentโs Community Investment Tax Credit Program for approval prior to making the donation. Contributions of services or labor are not eligible.
Please contact Patuxent Habitat for Humanity for a win-win tax credit at 301-863-6227. Your contribution will help with our mission to have a significant impact on our community by bringing people from all walks of life together in helping their neighbors in need to realize better lives by providing decent, affordable housing in both Saint Maryโs and Calvert County.
