Charles County Administrator Michael D. Mallinoff, Esq., ICMA-CM announces Christina R. Pompa, AICP, LEED AP as the deputy director for the Department of Planning and Growth Management.  The deputy director will report to the Department of Planning and Growth Management Director Steve Kaii-Ziegler. Pompa will begin her employment with Charles County Government on Monday, Oct. 2.

As the deputy director, Pompa will work with the director in managing the operations, administration and financial functions of the Department of Planning and Growth Management.  This includes development review and permitting operations, budget development, administration and management of department programs, leadership, policy guidance, interagency liaison, and assistance with planning, organizing, and directing the operation of the department’s programs and activities.

“I am excited to serve all the stakeholders of Charles County,” said Pompa.

Pompa has extensive expertise in interpretation and implementation of zoning, subdivision, and environmental regulations as applied to development projects across multiple Maryland counties and municipalities.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified planners and accredited with U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.  She was recently employed with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission as an acting planning supervisor in the Development Review Division, Subdivision and Zoning Section. Previously she served as the assistant branch manager of the Centreville, Maryland office of McCrone, Inc., a civil engineering, land planning, and surveying firm.

“I look forward to Christina joining Charles County Government,” said Kaii-Ziegler. “She will be a positive addition to the department’s team as she works to serve the residents of Charles County.”

Pompa holds a Master of Science from University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia.
