PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Prince Frederick man is facing multiple felony drug distribution charges following a lengthy investigation involving surveillance, controlled purchases, and a search warrant executed in Calvert County.

Nathaniel Brooks, 48, of Prince Frederick, was arrested after detectives with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit concluded an investigation into suspected cocaine distribution from his residence on Stamper Court.

The investigation began in early 2026 after law enforcement received information that Brooks was actively distributing cocaine from his home. Detectives conducted surveillance on the residence, observing frequent short-term traffic consistent with narcotics activity.

Authorities reported multiple individuals arriving at the residence, staying briefly, and leaving—behavior investigators say is indicative of drug transactions. Surveillance also documented known individuals with prior drug histories visiting the home.

As part of the investigation, detectives conducted controlled purchases using a confidential informant. According to the report, the informant successfully purchased crack cocaine from Brooks on multiple occasions, with transactions taking place at or near the residence.

On April 13, 2026, a search warrant was executed at the home, where deputies located crack cocaine, drug packaging materials, digital scales, and items consistent with distribution activity. Investigators also recovered a significant amount of U.S. currency, including cash stored in bags, envelopes, and containers throughout the residence.

Additional items recovered included ledgers believed to document drug transactions, along with quantities of crack cocaine packaged for sale. Investigators noted that the evidence was consistent with ongoing distribution rather than personal use.

According to the report, Brooks admitted to selling crack cocaine to individuals in Calvert County and acknowledged frequent sales activity.

Brooks is charged with multiple counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

He was initially held without bond before being released on his own recognizance following a bond review on April 17, 2026, before Judge Michelle R. Saunders.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Calvert District Court, Courtroom 1.

Under Maryland law, distribution of narcotics carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison, while possession with intent to distribute carries similar penalties.
