PINEY POINT, Md. — A partially full propane truck operated by Q-Dog Fuels overturned on Piney Point Road late Monday morning, prompting precautionary hazardous-materials monitoring.
Crews were dispatched around 11:30 a.m. Nov. 17, 2025, to Piney Point Road near Thomas Road on St. George Island for the reported rollover. Firefighters arrived to find the tanker on its side off the roadway.
The 36-year-old driver had gotten out of the truck before first responders arrived and reported back pain. Ambulance 67 EMS personnel evaluated him on the scene, but he signed a refusal of care and was not transported.
Firefighters conducted atmospheric monitoring around the vehicle, detecting six parts per million on the explosive scale and an oxygen reading of 20.8, officials said. The propane tank was partially filled but showed no damage. Lines were secured, and no leaks were detected.
Police remained on scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
