RIDGE, Md. — The Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad (RVRS) marked a milestone on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, celebrating its 75th Annual Installation of Officers at the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. The evening included a catered meal provided by the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and recognition of the organization’s 75 years of service to St. Mary’s County.
The 2025 Executive, Operational, and Association Officers were sworn in by Philip “Heavy” Ridgell, past president of the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firefighters Association.

The St. Mary’s County Commissioners also attended, commemorating the organization’s significant achievement of 75 years of service. The evening served as a tribute to the dedication and resilience of RVRS members, past and present, who have supported the community through countless emergencies over the decades.
