Rivers And Douglas Shine As Women's Indoor Track And Field Competes At Ursinus College

COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Women’s Indoor Track and Field Team traveled to Collegeville, Pennsylvania to compete at the Frank Colden Invitational. St. Mary’s was one of six teams competing, including the host Ursinus College. 

How It Happened:

  • Chay’la Rivers broke the school record for the Indoor Pentathlon, scoring 1756 points.
  • Brittney Douglas broke her previously held school record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:29.20. This performance earned her fifth overall. 
  • Alexis Hodges earned sixth place overall in the 1000 meter run with a time of 4:12.83.
  • Kaylee Holston earned 15th overall in the 1 mile run at 6:07.70. Close behind was Ariana Lecouras at 6:20.91 in 19th place. 
  • Weiya Carter earned seventh overall in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:42.83. 
  • Betsy Robey earned 11th overall in the 5000 meter run at 20:34.39. Madison Kingsley was close behind at 21:46.05. Stacie Lally trailed in 18th at 24:13.52.
  • Jillian Zukley earned fifth place overall in the Shot Put at 11.11 meters. Fladaina Bruno (7.90 meters) and Nayev Pumphrey(7.51 meters) also competed in this event.
  • Fladaina Bruno placed 12th overall in the Weight Throw at 11.11 meters. Jillian Zukley earned 15th at 10.31 meters and Nayev Pumphrey earned 17th at 9.84 meters.
  • The 4×400 meter relay squad earned sixth place overall with a time of 4:44.93.

The Seahawks will be back in action on February 17th as they travel to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to compete in the SU Tune Up Meet hosted by Susquehanna University.
