Prince Frederick, MD – Local attorney Robyn Riddle said Friday morning, Oct. 21 that she was โ€œcompletely honored and humbledโ€ to receive Maryland Governor Larry Hoganโ€™s appointment as a District Court judge. Riddle, currently an attorney with the law office of Cumberland and Erly LLC, will serve as judge in District 4 for Calvert and St. Maryโ€™s counties.

Noting she has 19 years of experience as a prosecuting attorney in both counties and nearly 10 years of experience as a private attorney, Riddle told The BayNet โ€œI would like to think I have a good balance. Thatโ€™s important.โ€

Robyn Riddle is a graduate of the University of Maryland and she obtained her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law. The newly appointed judge is the wife of recently-retired District Court Judge Robert Riddle. Her investiture ceremony is likely to take place sometime in November.

Other judicial appointments announced by Hogan Friday were Mark Boyer to the Washington County Circuit Court, and Jeannie Cho and Deb Dwyer to the Montgomery County Circuit Court. โ€œAfter conducting a thorough vetting process, I am confident that Mr. Boyer, Ms. Dwyer, Ms. Cho and Ms. Riddle are the most qualified candidates to fill these vacancies,โ€ Hogan stated in a press release. โ€œEach individual has demonstrated an exemplary understanding and commitment to the law – they will serve as strong advocates for justice and the people in their communities.โ€
