CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. – Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort celebrated a major milestone in the construction of their Phase 3 building.
They hosted a breakfast for the Sordoni Construction team and other subcontractors involved in the construction project. Everyone in attendance signed the final beam. Rod ‘N’ Reel also included Gerald Donovan’s signature, who before passing was the one who had the vision for the entire construction plans, along with his wife Mary Donovan, who was also able to sign the beam.
After it was signed, the construction crew placed the beam on top of the Phase 3 structure which will include the new Rod ‘N’ Reel dining room, flexible banquet space that can accommodate up to 500 people, a rooftop deck with an eagle’s eye view overlooking the Bay, additional hotel rooms, and a mezzanine bar.
The topping-out celebration is a long-standing tradition in the construction industry that marks the completion of the structural framework of a building and recognizes the hard work and dedication of the construction workers.
