Fatal Accident in Maryland

NANJEMOY, Md. — A driver died Friday afternoon, Sept. 26, when a vehicle overturned in front of the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department on Liverpool Point Road.

Firefighters found the vehicle overturned outside their station with the driver trapped inside. Crews worked for more than an hour with hydraulic tools, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second vehicle involved in the crash was located at the nearby intersection of Liverpool Point Road and Port Tobacco Road. No injuries were reported from that vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
