CALIFORNIA, Md. — A new Royal Farms is slated to open in St. Mary’s County, with signage recently posted in front of Lexington Exchange signaling the chain’s upcoming arrival. The store is planned for 23344 Three Notch Road in California.
Baltimore-based St. John Properties confirmed the addition, with Royal Farms logos added to site plans for a 5,376-square-foot convenience store at the 140-acre mixed-use development along Three Notch Road (Md. Route 235).

The Lexington Exchange development includes a mix of retail and flex space and is configured to support up to 600,000 square feet of commercial use.
There is currently no confirmed timeline for the Royal Farms opening, and The BayNet has reached out to the company for more information.
Site plans for the Lexington Exchange project, including this proposed Royal Farms, were introduced to the public during the St. Mary’s County Planning Commission meeting on Feb. 11, 2019.
More details on the development can be found on the St. John Properties website for Lexington Exchange.

Our planning commission should be run out of town. Traffic between 235/4 and Mervell Dean Rd. is a disaster daily. Why on earth are we continuing to allow more developers to make traffic worse still? Our citizens deserve better.
Just what this county needs. Yet another gas station convenience store for trash to hang out and do their drugs.
Hopefully it’s better than the Charlotte Hall location. Haven’t been to the Lexington Park one. However the Charlotte Hall one is horrible! If their chicken is anything like there I don’t see what people are in there chicken. Chaptico Market still has it best. I’ve also had better at other locations as well.
Wow! Another convenience store! Thank goodness!
Yay! Another gas station! Who needs affordable housing in St. Mary’s County? Let’s get a few more car washes….. oh wait……
For real, why do we need so many darn Gas/Convenience stores. They need to build another hospital or make a substantial upgrade to the one that’s already here. E.R. visits have been 8+ hours wait with over 40+ patients waiting to be seen… That chicken isn’t all that remarkable. Ewe! Yuck
Please tell me you are going to tear down that old Movie Theater and give us a bigger more updated one? They already closed the only AMC we have in this area and left us with RC Theatres. We don’t need anymore food places or gas stations, give us more entertainment and better shops with business that actually work for the community.
I think I would’ve been happier with a costco so built there! Cheap gas and affordable things. Then maybe slap in a ice skating place. Oooh! Maybe another bowling alley since the old one closed down.
