At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, firefighters from Leonardtown, Mechanicsville, Seventh District and Hollywood responded to a working house fire at 25848 South Sandgates Road.
Water supply lines were laid out from Three Notch Road and fire fighters only had access to three sides of the house. The rear of the house was obstructed.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the bulk of the fire. It took another twenty minutes for firefighters to ensure that all hot spots and secondary fires were out.
In all 48 firefighters responded to the blaze.
Maryland State Fire Marshall are investigating the cause of the blaze.
