ย There is a lot of quality items for sale at very
ย inexpensive prices at the ReStore.

With only a few shopping days left until Christmas, those who wait for the last minute, or who have limited money, might want to check out Patuxent Habitat for Humanityโ€™s ReStore in Lexington Park.

The thrift store is bursting at the seams with quality furniture, lighting, appliances and more very inexpensive goods.

ReStore only has a few shopping days left before the holidays but there is definitely something there for every taste. They are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Thursday and Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Next week, the unique thrift will open on Christmas Eve. During the special sale, they are seeking 10 percent donation on top of the fantastic price of their goods.

โ€œWe arenโ€™t forcing people to donate,โ€ said a smiling John Girolamo, Director of ReStore Operations. โ€œWe are always looking for ways to help fund what we do.โ€

Habitat president, Gary Williams, added that they do two houses per year and they already have two families selected for the next houses to go. โ€œThe hold up has been in the road construction leading to the neighborhood,โ€ said Williams. He indicated that now Bubby Knott of Great Mills Trading Post has donated the entire road construction part of the project. โ€œThat is 1,000 tons of material at $70 per ton,โ€ added Williams.

Patuxent Habitat for Humanity is one of the first to offer complete โ€˜greenโ€™ building methods for their Habitat homes. Williams acknowledged that the cost of green building is from 2 to 10 pecent higher, but that the savings to the families that purchase the house will more than compensate the initial cost.
