SOUTHERN MARYLAND – School closings have been announced on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, for St. Mary’s, Charles, Calvert, and Prince George’s Counties. Anne Arundel has announced virtual learning. Students, staff, and families are advised to prioritize safety and stay updated through official channels for weather and road conditions. Here are the latest notices:

CHARLES – Due to inclement weather conditions, all Charles County public schools will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025. There is a code red for staff who follow the code system.

Essential employees should follow the instructions given by their supervisor for when to report. When schools are closed, there are no after-school or evening activities.

CALVERT – Calvert County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Code Red for employees. 

ST. MARY’S – All St. Mary’s County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.  For more information, visit www.smcps.org. Thank you and be safe.

NOTE REGARDING INCLEMENT WEATHER DAYS: Due to the timing of this inclement weather day and the limited time to notify families of any change, Monday, February 17, 2025, will remain a school holiday. All schools and offices will be closed for Presidents’ Day. The Board of Education will review the school year calendar at its next meeting to determine make-up days for inclement weather. PRINCE GEORGE’S – All PGCPS schools and offices will be closed Wednesday, February 12, due to inclement weather.

Code Yellow: Only emergency personnel must report to work.

ANNE ARUNDEL – Due to the school system’s switch to virtual operations, the Dance Festival concert scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, 2025, will be rescheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Crofton High School.

Tickets are non-refundable. However, if you find yourself no longer able to attend this concert, please reach out to your school’s dance company director for additional details.
