HARRISBURG, Pa. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Baseball Team (2-9) concluded their three game series with Penn State Harrisburg (10-5). The Seahawks fell 8-3.

How It Happened

  • Harrisburg scored the first three runs of the game over the bottom of the first and second to build an early lead. 
  • Cole Tarleton got things going offensively for the Seahawks in the top of the fourth with a single to left center field. 
  • The Nittany Lions added to their lead in the bottom of the fifth with a two run homer. 
  • St. Mary’s began their comeback attempt in the top of the sixth. George Berbakos hit a one out double that advanced Derrick Booker to third. Chase O’Dell sent Booker home one at bat later thanks to a sc fly. Gavin Wathen added another RBI for the Seahawks two at bats later for their second run of the day. 
  • The Nittany Lions added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 7-2 ball game. 
  • The Seahawks kept the offense going in the top of the seventh. Trevor Smith hit a lead off double and advanced to third one at bat later thanks to a successful bunt. Derrick Booker reached base on a walk and stole second to get the Seahawks into a threatening spot offensively. George Berbakos connected on a two out RBI single to send home Smith from third, but Booker remained stranded to end the inning. 
  • Penn State Harrisburg added one more run in the bottom of the seventh and held the Seahawks scoreless the final two innings to take home a 8-3 victory.
