The persistent heat this summer is keeping volunteer firefighters occupied knocking down brushfires.

Volunteer firefighters from Valley Lee and Bay District companies responded again this morning to the site of a brush and woods fire Monday.

Shortly after 3:15 a.m. this morning, firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire at Porto Bello Farm in Drayden.

Bay District firefighters were released from the scene shortly not too long after dispatch, leaving Second District crews to mop up the rekindle.
