ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Budweiser Clydesdales wowed the crowds in North Beach a little over a week ago, when they strolled through town on Dec. 16. If you didn’t catch them — or just want to see them again — the team is making another appearance in Maryland this month as they lead the Military Bowl parade in Annapolis this Saturday.
The Military Bowl Parade is an event that kicks off the Military Bowl football game, an annual postseason National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) game whose proceeds go toward supporting current and former U.S. service members. The Military Bowl takes place at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis at 11 a.m. This year’s competing teams are the East Carolina Pirates and the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Usually, the Military Bowl Parade takes place right before the game, but this year the parade will be a full day before kickoff. The parade starts at 2:30 p.m., and you can view the parade map here and learn more about other activities in the area during Military Bowl weekend.
The Clydesdales first led the Military Bowl parade in 2013. They’ve returned each year since, becoming a beloved tradition and symbol of the game. The Clydesdales travel all over the country, and this stop in Annapolis is one of their last of the year, making it an extra special event for anyone able to see them lead this patriotic and moving parade.
Clydesdales are a long-standing symbol for Budweiser, too. The teams travel around the country to participate in parades and events. These stunning horses are some of the largest in the world and travel with a Dalmatian companion.
