AVENUE, Md. — The Seventh District Volunteer Rescue Squad hosted its annual Installation of Officers event on Jan. 11, inducting its newly elected leaders for 2025. The ceremony highlighted the organization’s commitment to community service and recognized members for their years of dedication.

During the ceremony, members received proclamations from the Commissioners, Delegate Matt Morgan, and Senator Jack Bailey.

Barbara Hill, Auxiliary President, shared her reflections on the Auxiliary’s impact. “The Seventh District Rescue Squad Auxiliary has supported the Squad for 52 years, since 1972.  We had many fundraisers all during the year to raise money to support the Squad.This year we presented the Squad with a check for $40,000. We recognized six of our members for length of service awards. Denise Hill 5 years, Nancy Daigle 15 years, Barbara Herbert 15 years, Betsy Wigginton 15 years, and Marcy Williams 25 years. Our memorial this year was in memory of Auxiliary member Mary Catherine Hammett “Kitty” who passed away in 2024 for her outstanding service to the Auxiliary.”
