The Charles County Sheriffโs Officeโs auto theft detail is investigating a series of vehicles stolen in the the Pinefield and White Oak subdivisions in Waldorf.
So far this year, five vehicles have been stolen and five other vehicle thefts were attempted. Additionally, GPS and stereo systems, a purse, credit cards, money and electronics have been stolen from locked and unlocked vehicles parked in the neighborhood. Another 28 vehicles have been damaged with spray paint, scratches, eggs, shattered windows and slashed tires.
Officials believe the crimes are connected and are asking the public to help identify the responsible parties. Anyone with information should call Detective D. Gross at (240) 299-9763. Rewards of up to $1,000 will be offered for information that leads to an arrest or indictment.
Citizens are reminded to report suspicious activity immediately and to ensure their vehicles are secured at all times. No valuable property is left in unattended vehicles.
