Shotgun Mishap in Waldorf Sends Man to Hospital with Severe Foot Injury

WALDORF, Md. — A man was hospitalized early Monday, April 21, 2025, after accidentally discharging a shotgun into his own foot. Deputies and emergency medical crews from Charles County responded quickly to the scene.

The incident occurred around 2:10 a.m. on Addison Court in Waldorf. Crews arrived to find the man suffering from severe lacerations after the firearm reportedly discharged as it fell, striking him in the foot.

A tourniquet was applied before the man was transported in stable condition to UM Capital Region Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accidental shooting.
