Hanover, MD — Shots were fired during an altercation near a club in Hanover. It happened around 1 a.m. on Wednesday near the Cancun Cantina on Old Telegraph Road in Hanover.

When Anne Arundel County Police officers arrived on the scene, they found a large crowd of people outside the establishment. Witnesses told officers there was a fight outside the businesses and several gunshots were fired.

Police learned a man had been hurt during the altercation but was able to leave the scene and arrange transportation to the hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening sharp-force injury.

No one was injured by the gunfire. Detectives were able to identify the suspect who fired the weapon and arrested him on Thursday.

Eric Craig Brown Jr., 22, of Annapolis, was charged with the following:

  • ATT 2ND DEG. MURDER
  • ASSAULT-FIRST DEGREE
  • ASSAULT-SEC DEGREE
  • LOADED HANDGUN ON PERSON
  • HANDGUN ON PERSON
  • RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT
  • FIREARM USE/FEL-VIOL CRIME
