A six-vehicle accident on Routes 2/4 at the Plum Point Road intersection in Huntingtown snarled traffic for several hours Sunday afternoon. Theย accident was called in at 2:53 p.m. One person was flown out by helicopter and one person was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Traffic was closed northbound for about 30 minutes and then for the next 45 minutes was limited to one lane.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police (MSP), and personnel from the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department, Prince Frederick Rescue Squad and Calvert Advance Life Support were dispatched the scene. The crash occurred in front of Lord Calvert Bowl. A MSP helicopter landed at a location on Plum Point Road.
