SOUTHERN MARYLAND – The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC), a division of the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland, is now accepting applications for the 2026 edition of the “So Maryland, So Good” Buy Local Guide. This consumer directory connects residents with fresh, locally raised, harvested, and produced goods across the region.

Expanded Scope for 2026

For the upcoming season, SMADC is broadening the guide’s focus to better represent the diverse agricultural landscape of Southern Maryland.

Who Can Apply?

Listings are free and open to farms and producers in the five-county Southern Maryland region: Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s counties. Eligible categories include:

  • Farms & CSAs: Farm stands, stores, and CSAs offering produce, meats, dairy, honey, cottage foods, and fiber.
  • Farmers Markets: Markets in Southern Maryland and those in the greater MD/DC/VA area that host at least one Southern Maryland farm vendor.
  • Craft Beverages: Wineries, breweries, and distilleries using locally grown grapes, grains, honey, or fruits.
  • Seafood & Aquaculture: Producers of locally raised or harvested oysters, crabs, and finfish.
  • Specialty Producers: Apiaries and creators of value-added farm products.


The 2026 Guide will also feature vendors accepting federal nutrition program benefits and participants in the Maryland Market Money (MMM) matching program, enhancing local food accessibility for the community.

Submission Details

Farmers and producers must submit their information by March 25, 2026, to be included in the guide.

How to Apply: Visit the SMADC website and locate the Application Form under the ‘News/Events’ section.
Cost: Free for all eligible local farms and markets.
Publication: The digital guide will be released in early-mid Spring 2026 on the ‘Get Our Guides’ page at SMADC.com.
