On March 27 between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., St. Mary’s County Sheriff deputies conducted a saturation patrol operation in the Callaway and Great Mills area of St. Maryโs County. Deputies initiated 30 traffic stops, which resulted in 24 written citations, 14 written warnings and four criminal arrests.
A one-hour long sobriety checkpoint was then conducted on Point Lookout Road at Camp Cosoma Road in Callaway. 252 drivers were provided checkpoint pamphlets. Additionally, seven traffic stops were conducted during the checkpoint, which resulted in seven written citations, two verbal warnings, and two safety equipment repair orders.ย ย
