Calvert County

 The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners announces county offices will be closed Friday Nov. 10, 2017 in observance of Veteran’s Day.

In addition:

  • The county senior centers will be closed and Meals on Wheels will not be delivered.
  • There will be no county bus service Friday, Nov. 10.
  • Calvert Library locations will be closed Friday, Nov. 10 and will reopen with regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 11.
  • Mt. Hope, Southern, Harriet E. Brown and Northeast community centers will be closed.
  • Battle Creek Cypress Swamp will be open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Flag Ponds Nature Park will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Kings Landing Park will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Edward Hall Aquatic Center will be open with regular hours.
  • The Appeal Landfill and county convenience centers will be open.
  • Chesapeake Hills Golf Course will be open with regular hours.
  • The Calvert Marine Museum will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Charles County

The County Administrator wishes to remind residents of changes to normal operating schedules for Nov. 10. All offices, facilities, and services not listed will be operating their normal hours.

  • All Charles County Government offices and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville are closed.
  • The Nanjemoy Community Center, senior centers, Port Tobacco Recreation Center, and all school-based community centers are closed.
  • All indoor pools will be open 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. for open swim (Lackey, Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, and North Point).
  • VanGO Brandywine Connector will not operate.
  • VanGO last departures from the Waldorf transfer point will be at 5:30 p.m. on the 301 Connector, Business A, Business B, and Charlotte Hall routes. Last departures from the Waldorf transfer point will be at 6 p.m. on the Berry Road, Indian Head, Pinefield, St. Charles A, St. Charles B, and St. Charles C routes. Last departures from the La Plata transfer point will be at 5:30 p.m. on the 301 Connector, Bryans Road, and Nanjemoy routes. Last departures from the La Plata transfer point for Newburg will be at 4:30 p.m., and for La Plata will be at 6 p.m.
  • Charles County Health Department is closed.
  • Charles County Public Library (All branches) is closed through Sunday, Nov. 12.

Prince George’s County 

All county offices are closed in observance of Veterans Day (except public safety agencies). A few county services are also suspended or closed.

In addition: 

  • Animal Services Facility (Closed) 
  • CountyClick 3-1-1 (returns November 13, remains available online)

No Collection/Service:

  • Bulky Trash Collection (Resumes November 13 – by appointment only)
  • Call-A-Bus (Resumes November 13, 2017)
  • Curbside Recycling Collection (Friday collections will occur)
  • TheBus Route 51 (Resumes November 13, 2017)
  • Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas (Friday collections will occur)  
  • County Yard Trim Collections (Regular collections for Nov. 6, 2017)

Saint Mary’s County

All St. Mary’s County Government administrative offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10 in observance of the Veteran’s Day holiday. All offices will reopen for regular business on Monday, Nov. 13.

In addition:

  • The St. Andrews Landfill, six (6) Convenience Centers and St. Mary’s Transit System (STS) will be open and operate for regular business hours on November 10. The Landfill, Convenience Centers and STS will be open for normal business hours on Nov. 9 and 11.
  • The Statewide Specialized Transportation Assistance Program (SSTAP) service will not operate on November 10. Normal SSTAP service resumes on November 13.
  • All three branches of the St. Mary’s County Library (Charlotte Hall, Leonardtown and Lexington Park) will be closed November 10. Libraries will operate under normal hours on November 11 and 12.
  • The three Senior Activity Centers (Garvey, Loffler and Northern) will be closed on November 10 and there will be no Meals on Wheels deliveries.
