St. Mary’s Board of County Commissioners are excited to announce citizens now have a new way to receive information, updates and interact with County government. The County has launched its own official page on the social media networking site, Facebook.
Residents can now access the County’s Facebook page via the County’s home page www.co.saint-marys.md.us, by going directly to the URL: www.facebook.com/pages/St-Marys-County-Government/276931439017134, or by searching on Facebook for “St. Mary’s County Government” and clicking on the result with the county seal.
“Social networking and communications sites like Facebook offer an opportunity to reach more people than in the past,” said Commissioner President Jack Russell. “I wholeheartedly encourage everyone who wants to stay informed about what’s going on in County government to log on and “like” our new Facebook page.”
“Facebook will allow us to reach more people in the county, allow residents to stay informed and make County government more accessible,” said Commissioner Cindy Jones (1st District). “Facebook played an important role during my election campaign last year and continues to help me communicate directly with those in my district.”
