
LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The St. Mary’s Gymnastics Academy (SMGA) is proud to announce the conclusion of a fantastic gymnastics season following the recent success of team members at the USA Gymnastics Region 7 Championships, held May 14–17, 2026, in Edison, New Jersey.
SMGA team gymnasts in the Gold and Platinum levels competed at regionals, where they faced opponents from Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Xcel Gold highlights include Reagan Wagner with a second-place All-Around finish, Legare Wicker with fifth place on bars, and Aubrey Woode with eighth place on beam.
Xcel Platinum achievements include Kathleen Holbert with first place on bars and fifth place All-Around, Katelyn Haina with fifth place on bars, and Peyton Denierio with second place on floor.
All SMGA gymnasts worked incredibly hard this year, showing clear improvement and development throughout the season. This season was especially notable, with all 40 SMGA team athletes qualifying for and competing at the state level.
Thank you to the gymnasts, their families, and coaches for their dedication to the St. Mary’s Gymnastics Academy. We celebrate SMGA’s achievements and look forward to the 2026–2027 season.
