The Social Coffee House Expanding From Leonardtown To Bel Air

LEONARDTOWN, Md. — One of Southern Maryland’s most recognizable coffee destinations is preparing to take its community-focused concept north.

The Social Coffee House, which has become a gathering place in downtown Leonardtown, recently announced through a social media video that the business will expand with a second location in Bel Air, marking the company’s first venture outside Southern Maryland.

The announcement represents a major milestone for the locally owned business, which opened its flagship Leonardtown location inside the historic Duke Building in 2024 and quickly developed a loyal following for its combination of coffee, cocktails, community events and welcoming atmosphere.

From Leonardtown Landmark To Regional Expansion

Located on Fenwick Street in downtown Leonardtown, The Social has positioned itself as more than a traditional coffee shop. The business has emphasized creating a space where residents can gather, work, meet friends and participate in community events.

According to information provided by the company, the business was built around the idea of connection and creating an environment where people feel welcome throughout the day, whether stopping in for coffee, meeting co-workers or enjoying evening offerings.

The move to Bel Air signals that the concept has resonated strongly enough in St. Mary’s County to support growth into another Maryland market.
