Forestville, MD— On Dec.4, at approximately 07:20 a.m., troopers from the MSP Forestville responded to the area of southbound I-495 south of Maryland Rt. 4 Forestville, Maryland for a vehicle stopped in lane 2 on the highway.

Upon their arrival to the scene, TFC Murray #5466 and other troopers observed the driver of a silver Subaru Legacy passenger vehicle displaying Virginia registration VPG5594 bleeding from a cut to his arm and unconscious in the driverโ€™s seat. Fireboard and EMS were notified and responded to the scene.

The driver was identified as Stanley Albert Whren (B/M/08-03-1969) and a female passenger was identified as Cynthia Yvette Grant (B/F/06-29-1962). After further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was assaulted and stabbed by an unknown suspect at the Shell gas station on Forestville Road. Prince Georges County Police were notified of this incident and responded to the scene.

The suspect fled on foot and driver of the Subaru drove away prior to PG Police arriving on scene. The driver could not drive any further and subsequently stopped his vehicle on the highway due to the injuries sustained from the assault at the Shell gas station. Prince Georgeโ€™s County Police were notified of the incident and responded to the inner loop 495 south of Route 4 to take control of the scene and investigate the incident.

The driver was transported to PGH by EMS to be treated for his injury. For further questions in reference
