Throughout the month of September, the Maryland State Police – Leonardtown Barrack has partnered with the Maryland Food Bank to collect food and non-food items for donation for Maryland residents who suffer from the uncertainty of sufficient amounts of nutritious foods. Many Maryland residents, including middle class families, the elderly and the working poor go hungry every day as they struggle to make ends meet. The Maryland State Police – Leonardtown Barrack urge the citizens of our communities to come together during this time to make donations of non-perishable foods and non-food items to help fellow families in Maryland receive nutritious food to feed their families.
Non-perishable food items include: canned meat, ham and chicken, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned stews, canned tuna, salmon and sardines, nuts and seeds, dried canned beans, oatmeal, breakfast cereal, rice and rice cakes, pasta, canned fruits and juices, canned vegetables, canned soups, sauces and salad dressings, evaporated milk, powdered milk, infant formula, and pudding and custards. Non-food items also being accepted are: Diapers, toilet paper, plastic or paper plates and cups.

Please note all donations must be received prior to September 30, 2014 so they can be transported to the Maryland Food Bank.
