On Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at 5:00 in the evening, Dep. R. Cox responded to a burglary on Sitting Bull Trail in Lusby.

Two Boa Constrictor snakes, several DVD movies, and a knife set were stolen from the victimโ€™s residence during the burglary.

On October 3, Det. C. M. Parsons received information on the whereabouts of the two Boa Constrictor snakes as well as who may have taken them. A search warrant was obtained for the residence of the suspect, Charles Edwin Compton, 18, of California, Maryland.

At approximately 11:15 that night, members of the Calvert Investigative Team, along with members of the Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office Special Operations Team executed the search warrant on Comptonโ€™s address. The two stolen Boa Constrictors were located in a cage in the laundry room of the Compton residence. The victim responded to the suspectโ€™s address and identified the snakes as being the ones that were stolen from his residence. Charges are pending.
