
WALDORF, Md.— Emergency crews responded Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, to Benjamin Stoddert Middle School after a student was treated for a suspected overdose involving a vape device, officials said.
First responders were dispatched at approximately 12:10 p.m. to the school on St. Thomas Drive following a 911 call reporting a medical emergency. The patient, a 14-year-old boy, was evaluated by emergency medical personnel in the school’s nurse’s office.
The incident was believed to involve a vape pen containing THC. The student was conscious and breathing when responders arrived and was transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center as a precaution.
No other students were reported to be affected.
