The 7th Annual Toyota/Scion of Waldorf’s BuckWild Outdoors Expo returns to the Charles County Fairgrounds in La Plata, MD, fromย August 23-25, promising a fun-filled weekend for the entire family.

Watermen of a different kind will be joining the largest outdoor show in Maryland this year. While Maryland has no shortage of watermen who make their living off the bounties of the Chesapeake Bay including: oysters, crabs, and fish, Louisiana watermen (and waterwomen) have alligators at the top of their list.ย

Donโ€™t miss your chance to meet some of the stars of the History Channel’s hit reality show “Swamp People”. ย Troy and Jacob Landry, along with Liz Cavalier and her daughter Jess, will be at the 7th Annual BuckWild Outdoors Expo presented by Toyota/Scion of Waldorf.

You can meet “Gator Queen” Liz Cavalier and her alligator-hunting daughter, Jess,ย from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, August 24.ย There aren’t many Cajun lady gator hunters on the swamp, but this duo is one of the best. Taught by her father, Liz has been hunting gator since she was a little girl, using the same type of gun fired by Annie Oakley. An ace shot, Liz prides herself on being “one of the boys.” She baits the hooks, pulls the lines, and throws a knife with the best of them.

โ€œKing of the Swampโ€ Troy Landry and son Jacob, better known as the gator-hunting, father-son duo, will sign autographs and take picturesย from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday, August 25.ย A Cajun who takes great pride in his family’s long history in Pierre Parte, Troy Landry has spent the last three decades earning his reputation as “King of the Swamp.” Jacob Landry, who has worked alongside his father Troy, spent last season helping his team fill 320 tags.

Outdoorsmen should plan to arrive early and stay late in order to visit the more than 100 exhibitors selling the latest hunting and fishing gear. There will also be a Gun Giveaway on Friday sponsored by Benelli USA, a 3D archery tournament and a waterfowl calling competition. And donโ€™t forget to bring your whitetail deer mounts to be scored in the official Maryland Trophy Deer Contest and your appetite to sample frog legs and alligator meat from the many food vendors in attendance!

The weekend will also have plenty of activities for the kids, including: a free youth archery clinic, a kidโ€™s zone, pellet gun course, and more. ย Admission is $10 per day $20 for a three-day pass. Children 12 and under are free.
