PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Heat Lab marked its official ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, welcoming community members, local leaders and business representatives to its wellness studio at Armory Square Shops.
The event included guided tours of the facility, where attendees learned more about services offered at Southern Maryland’s first contrast therapy studio. Staff members were on hand throughout the event to answer questions and explain how the space operates, including private infrared sauna and cold plunge rooms, and red light therapy.
“A lot of what we offer here may be new to people, so education is a big part of what we do,” staff members said during the event. “We want visitors to understand how these therapies support the body naturally and help them take a more active role in their health.”
The Heat Lab officially opened to the public on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, but the months that followed were used to fine-tune operations, educate clients on available services, and ensure the space was fully prepared to meet community needs. The Feb. 3 ribbon cutting was described as a milestone signaling readiness to grow alongside the community.
“The goal is to make these services approachable, whether someone is coming in with experience or just walking in to learn what’s available,” staff said, noting that the studio allows walk-in IV therapy in addition to scheduled services.
Attendees expressed enthusiasm about having Southern Maryland’s first studio available locally, pointing to the convenience of accessing specialized wellness services without traveling outside Calvert County.
Members of the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce were also in attendance for the ribbon cutting and noted the studio’s role in expanding local health and wellness options while contributing to the continued growth of Prince Frederick’s business community.
