WALDORF, Md. — Three people were hospitalized after a car and a truck towing a trailer collided around 12:13 p.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Parkway and St. Thomas Drive.
Initial 911 reports indicated one person was pinned, but fire officials later said there was no entrapment.
A 23-year-old woman was taken to UM Capital Region Medical Center with non–immediately life-threatening injuries. Two men in their 60s were transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Northbound St. Charles Parkway was shut down at St. Thomas Drive and traffic was rerouted while crews worked the scene.
Responders noted a damaged traffic-signal control cabinet and requested a utility check; a later update indicated the box may have been damaged before the crash.
The cause remained under investigation
