
WHITE PLAINS, Md. — On Thursday morning, Sept. 18, 2025, emergency crews responded to a collision involving a VanGo passenger bus at Crain Highway and Marshalls Corner Road that left several people hurt.
The incident was reported shortly after 8:15 a.m. First responders initially declared a mass casualty event after receiving reports of multiple injured passengers.
Medics treated at least six people at the scene . Three patients, a 65-year-old woman, a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, were transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Three others declined additional care.
Fire and EMS units from across Charles County were dispatched before the situation was scaled back once crews determined the extent of injuries. Command at the scene was terminated around 8:40 a.m.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances of the collision.

This article is really concerning as it highlights a potential safety issue with public transport in White Plains. Its good that the injured were taken care of, but it makes me wonder how often such accidents happen and what can be done to prevent them.
