Update
Crain Highway has reopened.
LA PLATA, Md. – Oct. 16, approximately 8:20 a.m., crews responded to southbound Route 301 and Rosewick Road, La Plata for the report of a crash that involved a tractor trailer, six other vehicles, and caused downed wires in the roadway.
Reports from the scene say that five people were taken to an area hospital for injuries and one person was taken to a trauma center by ground.
State Highway Administration, SMECO, Charles County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police, La Plata Police Department are all on scene. US301 is closed currently closed, traffic is being diverted onto Washington Avenue while the crash is being cleared.
Expect delays.
