At midday Friday, traffic lights on Route 235 from Pegg Road, south were out.
While a SMECO line crew was one the scene making repairs to a pole near Sign of the Whale, a small brush fire broke out.
Bay District Fire Volunteers responded with a brush truck and doused the flame, while SMECO went right on working.
