GREAT MILLS, Md. — Emergency crews responded Tuesday evening to a single-vehicle crash involving a utility pole equipped with a flashing school zone sign on Point Lookout Road near Dyson’s Building Center.
The incident occurred around 6:48 p.m. on May 13, 2025, when a red Dodge crew cab pickup truck veered off the road and struck the pole. First responders arrived to find the occupants of the truck uninjured.
The Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) was requested to the scene to assess and repair the damaged pole and school zone equipment.
No traffic delays or power outages were immediately reported.
