Update March 23 4 p.m. from St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office
Mechanicsville, MD – On March 19, at approximately 8:45 p.m., deputies from the St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office, responded to the 27000 block of Budds Creek Road, in Mechanicsville, for the report of a single vehicle collision. Upon arrival, deputies located a single vehicle off the roadway into a tree. The operator of the vehicle sustained incapacitating injuries and the Sheriffโs Office Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and continued the investigation.
Initial investigation determined a 1998 Ford Ranger, operated by Michael Howard Williams, 51 of Mechanicsville, was traveling westbound on Budds Creek Road, in the area of Thompson Corner Road, when for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to MedStar St. Maryโs Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time speed, alcohol, or drug use, do not appear to be factors in this collision. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact DFC. Update Tuesday, March 20 6:15 a.m.
Mechanicsville, MD – On Monday evening, March 19, a pickup truck traveling on Budds Creek Road in the area of Thompson Corner Road left the roadway and struck a tree, seriously injuring one motorist. The crash occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Budds Creek Road was shut down for several hours while police were at the scene. A police report on the crash is pending.

Mechanicsville, MD – Authorities in St. Mary’s County reported at 9:13 p.m. that Budds Creek Road is shut down while police and other responders are at the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash.
Mechanicsville, MD – At 8:45 p.m. St. Mary’s County authorities reported a motor vehicle crash at the Budds Creek Road/Thompson Corner Road intersection. Initial reports indicate a motor vehicle has struck a tree. At least one injury, believed to be serious, is reported. Motorists bound for this area should use caution.
