
UPDATE – 2/14/23 – Mechanicsville Woman Dies Days After Serious Head-On Collision
MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – Emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Mechanicsville Road, near Red Oak Lane, at approximately 8:25 a.m. on February 4, 2024.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a black truck and a silver Ford Escape involved in a head-on collision. At least one occupant was trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters before being handed over to EMS for care.

A total of two patients were evaluated by EMS, with one suffering from life-threatening injuries. A MEDEVAC transport was requested for one patient. Firefighters established the landing zone at Asher Road for the Maryland State Police Aviation Command, Trooper 7. The patient was airlifted to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for treatment. The second patient was transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Mechanicsville Road, in the area of Gold Lane, will remain closed for an extended period while the investigation continues.
As police continue to investigate the crash, we will provide updates as they become available.
