
HOLLYWOOD, Md. – On February 7, 2024, at approximately 11:51 a.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident on northbound Three Notch Road in the area of Sotterley Road.
Crews arrived and found a rear-end collision with multiple occupants injured.

EMS evaluated two patients on the scene and transported the driver of a Ford Edge, a 58-year-old man to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. The driver of the KIA Optima, a 52-year-old man was transported by ambulance to UM Capitol Region Trauma Center for treatment. The Ford F450 was also involved, but no transport was reported for the driver.
Maryland State Police continue to investigate the collision. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

This intersection has an above average statistic for MVAs.
Taking into consideration the road condition and time of day .. most accidents appear to be caused by driver error ,, not mechanical issue or medical emergency .
The intersection is wide open and all aspects are very visible ..
I have a feeling that many of these accidents at this location are from drivers that have the deer in the headlights look.. tired , put themselves on auto pilot and drone out their surroundings …then ut oh they come upon the intersection at speed and have no time to react …
The state needs to install flashing warning devices 200 yards prior to the intersection to alert people whom are in drone mode that an intersection is before them
