
SEVERN, Md. — Two men were arrested after Anne Arundel County police reported finding a loaded shotgun, additional shotgun shells, suspected drugs and $1,500 in cash during a traffic stop in Severn.
The stop occurred around 4:35 p.m. May 30, 2026, in the area of Annapolis Road and Disney Road. Anne Arundel County police officers initially stopped the vehicle for a speeding violation.
Police reported that a probable-cause search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a loaded Mossberg 590 shotgun, additional shotgun shells and various amounts of suspected drugs, including suspected MDMA, suspected cocaine, suspected Alprazolam, suspected Adderall and suspected fentanyl. Officers also reported finding $1,500 in cash.
Both occupants were arrested.
Brian Anthony Cobb, 33, of Severn, is charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, three counts of possession of CDS, not cannabis, one count of possession with intent to distribute PCP, LSD or hallucinogens, and three counts of possessing or receiving CDS while confined or detained.
Stephen Anthony McCoy, 61, of Mount Airy, is charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, three counts of possession of CDS, not cannabis, possession of an unregistered rifle or shotgun, and possession of a firearm in connection with a drug trafficking crime.
Court records show both men were released on their own recognizance on May 31.
A preliminary hearing for McCoy is set for June 24, 2026, in Annapolis. A preliminary hearing for Cobb is set for July 1, 2026, in Annapolis.
