Tyson Lesesne was selected as the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Athlete of the Month for November of 2005. Lesesne, a sophomore guard from Edgewood, helped lead the men’s basketball team to a 4-1 overall record during November.
For the month, Lesesne started and played in all five contests for the Seahawks. He averaged 22.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game during the month. He also scored at least 20 points in four of the five contests, including a season-high 28 points in the 96-85 victory over McDaniel.
Lesesne shot 49.4 percent (41-83) from the field during the month, including 38.9 percent (14-36) from behind the arc. He also connected on 89.5 percent (17-19) of his free throw attempts to open the season.
As a team, the Seahawks are currently 5-2 overall on the season. The start is the best for the Seahawks since the 2000-01 campaign when the team started 8-2 overall.
They will next be in action on Thursday, December 15, when they travel to Davidson College (D-I) for a non-conference contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
