Valley Lee, MD – State authorities reported an estimated loss of $35,000 as a result of a shed fire in St. Maryโ€™s County, Wednesday afternoon, June 29.

According the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the blaze occurred around 1:20 p.m. on Blake Creek Road in Valley Lee. The fire was discovered by a neighbor. No injuries were reported.

โ€œThe fire was determined to have been the result of an unattended propane torch igniting combustible materials inside the shed,โ€ a fire marshalโ€™s report stated. โ€œThe shed and all its contents were destroyed.โ€

The 20-by-20-foot wood-framed shed was owned by Robert Holden Sr.

Eighteen firefighters were dispatched to the one-alarm blaze and brought the flames under control in 10 minutes.
