On Dec. 10, at 2:45 a.m., Deputy T. Bowes responded to a residence in Valley Lee for the report of a burglary.
Investigation revealed Edward A. Slade, Jr., 20 of Valley Lee, entered the residence uninvited and began choking and hitting a dog inside the residence for no apparent reason.
Slade Jr., was not known to the victim and the victim did not invite Slade to the residence. Slade Jr. was extremely intoxicated. Slade Jr. was placed under arrest and charged with third-degree burglary, cruelty to animals and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
