UPDATE: On April 23, at approximately 12:52 p.m., the St. Mary’s County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call. The male caller stated there was a bomb in one of the courthouses. Deputies and Maryland State Troopers responded to the Joseph D. Carter Building (District Court) on Leonard Hall Drive and the St. Mary’s County Circuit Courthouse on Courthouse Drive. Both building are located in Leonardtown.
All occupants of both buildings were evacuated from the buildings.
Currently explosive detection K-9’s are on location searching the buildings. Investigation is continuing.
UPDATE: Both the Circut and District courthouses are being effected and have been evacuated at this time. Roads in the area are blocked off to motorists. K9 dogs are on the scene.

TBN has learned that there is a bomb threat in Leonardtown. Some conflicting sources state that the bomb threat is at the Jail and others say at the Court House. The threat was called in shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 23. TBN has a crew heading toward Leonardtown and more details will be provided as they become available.
