Suspect’s Name Released
On March 13, Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations conducted an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of two females, currently 19 and 15 years of age in Mechanicsville.
As a result of that investigation Michael Thirion, 49,of Mechanicsville, was arrested and charged with two counts of Felony Child Abuse, two counts of Second-Degree Sex Offense, two counts of Third-Degree Sex Offense and two counts of engaging in a continuing course of conduct over a period of 90 days with a victim under the age of 14 years which includes three or more acts.
Man Charged with Felony Sex Abuse of Two Teens
On March 13, Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations conducted an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of two females, currently 19 and 15 years of age in Mechanicsville.
The investigation revealed a 49-year-old male family member had sexually abused the victims several times a week over the past 7 years.
The suspect was identified, placed under arrest, charged with two counts of Felony Child Abuse, two counts of Second-Degree Sex Offense, two counts of Third-Degree Sex Offense and two counts of engaging in a continuing course of conduct over a period of 90 days with a victim under the age of 14 years which includes three or more acts.
The subject was incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
To aid in the protection of the identity of the victims, the suspects name and photograph are not being released.
