Upper Marlboro, MD – On Nov. 10 at approximately 8 p.m., the Maryland State Police (MSP) Forestville Barrack responded to a call for a serious motor vehicle collision on southbound US 301 at Rosaryville Road in Upper Marlboro. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica being driven by Nikia Colette Wood, 35 of Upper Marlboro, was traveling on Old Indian Head Road at US 301. Wood was attempting to cross over and continue on Rosaryville Road. A 2010 Ford Sport Trac operated by Maurice DeHaven Madison, 63 of Waldorf, was traveling south on US 301 at Rosaryville Road.
According to witnesses at the scene, the Chrysler failed to stop for a red light and entered the intersection.ย The Chrysler then struck the Ford in the southbound lanes of US 301. Both vehicles came to rest partially on the shoulder of US 301 and Rosaryville Road. Wood was transported to Prince Georgeโs Hospital. Madison was transported to Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital for minor injuries. The right front passenger of the Chrysler, Denise Thompson, 40 of Upper Marlboro, was declared deceased at the scene by emergency medical services and a forensic investigator from the medical examinerโs office. Collision reconstruction specialists responded to the scene for further investigation. There appears to be no signs of alcohol or other impairment by either driver.
The investigation is being handled by Trooper Heffler and Tfc. Zarecki of the MSP.
Croom, MD— At approximately 8:30 p.m., a serious motor vehicle accident was reported at Crain Highway and Rosaryville Road in the area of Croom.ย
Injuries have been reported as a result of this motor vehicle accident, units have been dispatched to the scene.ย
